(A series from the book of Isaiah: chapter 46-48)

Chapters 46-48, give us a story of God’s people under the rule of Babylon. God’s people under the rule of Babylon was never a happy experience. It was supposed to be a reminder for them to go back to God and know His great love. However, at many times, the purpose has been defeated because His people came to worship the lifeless and helpless gods of the Babylonians. The people of Israel failed to go back to God and their love for God waxed cold.

In the following chapters, God was doing the reorientation of His character. God again and again presented to His children what can He offer to them. He is offering them deliverance, hope, salvation, and love. Whenever they choose to go to Him, He will never reject them, He will even continue to go after them and persuade them of how loving He is.

This is who God is…

He is love…

His love is defined by our performance…

He will never stop presenting His love for you and me before His second coming

Christ’s redeeming love has already been promised from the days of Isaiah and from before the creation of this world.

You and I are God’s children and it is His mission to restore us into His image. God does all the work needed to bring man back into that perfect state again with God. A state where sin will never be ruling over anyone in the universe. God is occupied in doing this work for our deliverance from sin. No love can ever be compared to the great love of God for His children. He is not concerned about how good you are before going to Him. He is only concerned that you will finally decide to choose His love over the dominion of sin in your heart.

17 This is what the Lord says—

your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:

“I am the Lord your God,

who teaches you what is best for you,

who directs you in the way you should go.

18 If only you had paid attention to my commands,

your peace would have been like a river,

your well-being like the waves of the sea.

19 Your descendants would have been like the sand,

your children like its numberless grains;

their name would never be blotted out

nor destroyed from before me.”

Friends, what more can we testify of God’s great love for you and me.

A God who created the whole creations of this world looks at you as if you are the only one whom He is looking for to save and to love.

You are God’s apple of His eye.

He is working out your life in a way that is only for your best.

His plans and His works are directed towards giving you the best life here and to eternity.
