Luke 6:13 "In the morning he called his disciples together and chose twelve of them and named them apostles."
Jesus' conditions for choosing disciples were not based on wealth, scholarship, position, honor, or merit.
We are more a response to God's love for us first than our own choice of Him.
And God did not love us because of our wealth or knowledge through our own efforts, nor because we chose Him, but only because of His plan and will.
Even if God did choose us, the reasons for His choice would not be something we could justify, but rather something we would be afraid of.
For God, it is not important why He chose us, but how we respond to His call that is important, and this is what we want to do, whether we can or not.
God gathers us as a community with our immaturity and our difficulties and gives us a place to train to be united there.
There, the Holy Spirit, our nurturer, is also available, and Jesus, who has chosen us, is responsible for us to the end.
When we are faced with difficulties, let us believe in God, entrust ourselves to Him, and boldly take a physical hit.
We may get hurt or suffer some pain, but we will receive God's grace that can only be obtained by experiencing it.
God will strengthen us little by little and make us more like Him.
