Matthew 13:52 “Jesus states that a well-instructed scribe, or teacher of the law, who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven, is like a homeowner who brings out of his treasure both new and old things"

God has given us the Scriptures and revelation of the natural world so that we may know Him better.

Even though the Old and New Testaments were written at different times, they agree on who God is and what He has done for us.

We are shaken when things happen, but the words of the Bible comfort, heal and encourage us.

Sometimes the words of the Old Testament are more fitting, and sometimes the words of the New Testament are more comfortable, depending on our circumstances.

Both are the same Word of God, and we can take from either what fits us best for the moment, depending on our needs.

God knows all about us and is all-sufficient for us.

We have nothing else in the world to turn to unless we find the words we need now in the words of the Bible that God has given us, and we rely on them for strength and support.

We want to have many experiences of being healed and encouraged by God's word.

And we want to be able to choose the words of God's love and deliver them to our neighbors according to their needs.
