Luke 4:40 “When the sun was setting, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying His hands on each one, He healed them.”

The Lord knew that those who begged for help had brought the illness on themselves.

Yet Jesus did not refuse to heal them.

When Christ's healing power was exerted over these wretched souls, they became aware of their sins, and many were healed, not only of their physical illnesses, but of their spiritual ones as well.

Since the gospel has the same power today, there is no reason why we should not see the same results today.

Do we run to Jesus when we are sick or in trouble?

Do we fully believe that Jesus really does heal our illnesses?

Even if we don't see any change, do we wait and believe that Jesus will heal us in some way?

Do we only want Jesus to heal us of our illnesses rather than Jesus himself?

If we truly and seriously need a Savior and turn to Jesus and run to Him, He will heal us as He did in biblical times.

And not just to heal the sick, but God heals us so that we can be witnesses for Jesus.

And with joy we will want to tell Jesus what he has done for us and who he is to us.

God leads us to transform even sickness into praise and joy in Him and absolute trust in Him!

Even if we are not cured of our illnesses in this life, God promises that He will resurrect us and at that time we will no longer be sick, sad, or suffering.

This is a hope that we cannot experience in this world.
