Gospel Reflections #562: What Shines in our Lives?

2 Corinthians 4:6 “God, who commanded, "Let light shine out of darkness. God, who commanded, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' has given us light to shine in our hearts and to realize the glory of God that shines in the face of Jesus Christ."

When we try to tell the world about God, we tend to try to show them how well we keep His laws and how faithful Christians are.

We tend to think that our "proof" of God is that we are so good at believing and obeying Him.

The "proof" to God is not that we have become great by believing in Him or that we have been blessed with good fortune, but "what God has done for us.

This verse is preceded by the words, "But we do not proclaim ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord. We ourselves are only your servants working for Jesus."It is written, "We ourselves are only your servants who work for Jesus.

As we serve others in a world that seems dark, God works in us and with us to make us shine as lights in the world.

That immeasurable power belongs to God and does not come from us, but from God shining from within us, earthen vessels, so that it may reach the world as God's light.

All we have to do is accept God's light into our own earthen vessels and serve those in need, and God will create a spiritual reaction that goes far beyond our thoughts.

We may not be able to see it, but I believe that there are many spiritual reactions that God has created in front of us.
