GOD’S OVERWHELMING LOVE

(A Series on the Book of Isaiah: Chapter 45)

GOD'S LOVE SURELY IS OVERWHELMING.

Isaiah chapter 45 is a very heavy chapter. It is a loaded chapter. It is loaded with God’s reminder of who He is. God has repeatedly and repeatedly and repeatedly given the assurance to His chosen people. In the very first part, He assured them that in the coming exile God has already prepared even a king to rescue them. God has anointed and appointed a king to be their deliverer.

However, this story of a king deliverer is pointing them to the greater plan of God for the final rescue and salvation for His people. God will never stop working for out the salvation for His children. The ultimate plan of God to restore, save, and deliver His people is sending the Greatest King above all Kings who will perfectly perform the complete deliverance for God’s people. What has been happening in the people of God in the time of Isaiah is only a portion of a greater story and a greater number of God’s people in the whole run of history until the second coming. Their story also foretells God’s greater and grander plan for His people.

Isaiah 45:22-25 expressed this greatest assurance of Christ the ultimate Messiah of God’s people.

22 “Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. 23 By myself I have sworn, my mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked: Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear. 24 They will say of me, ‘In the Lord alone are deliverance and strength.’” All who have raged against him will come to him and be put to shame. 25 But all the descendants of Israel will find deliverance in the Lord and will make their boast in him.

This chapter gives us a very vivid picture of God’s great love and devotion for His children. He always Identified himself in this chapter as…

“I am your God”

“I am the Creator of everything”

“I am the only God”

“You can trust me, because my words are true”

“I am the Lord who saves you”

Isaiah 45:2-3,

2 I will go before you and will level the mountains[a]; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. 3 I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.

Friends, we have a God who will go before us. This is just the sweetest assurance for all of us today. We have a God who will go before us in all the experiences this life is giving us. Isaiah chapter 45 of Isaiah is just a sweet reminder and a love letter from God telling us that no matter how hard life may have become God has already gone before us. Our life is a part of a grander plan of God, of a greater History for His people. Our life is a part of a greater plan of God for His children. Whatever happens God will do His best to save, to deliver, to restore, to redeem, and to offer second chances.

When you chose God, you will continually be surprised by how He really loves you and you have eternity to discover this great and wonderful God.

WHEN GOD LOVES YOU, HE GIVES EVERYTHING TO SAVE YOU, AND HE WILL DO EVERYTHING TO SAVE YOU.
